I bought THE dress!!!!!

Hi all,

My mom came up this weekend, for the big "wedding dress weekend" with 3 appointments at really great places. So, I tried on a few more dresses, there were some absolutely gorgeous gowns that I would have been very happy with, but I still hadn't had "the feeling" that any of the wedding dresses were "the one." On Saturday morning, I tried on the dress, and that was it! She put a veil on me, & there were definite tears :) It was style of dress that I thought I never would have picked out, it was different, & I could really see myself walking down the aisle... So, that was a HUGE relief to have finally found the dress! Now we can kind of plan the wedding style around that :)

After that, I tried on a few bridesmaids dresses, to see how they looked. I found a really great dress, but I'll keep looking to see if any thing else is out there, but it looks like they might be in purple (sorry, Brent!).

We also met with our Florist, to see some of her flowers for the weekend, very pretty!

I also got a block of rooms booked yesterday at the TownePlace Suites Marriott for Friday & Saturday of our wedding weekend. I know it seems a little early, but there is a brand new soccer complex nearby, I didn't want a bunch of soccer teams filling up the hotel! :) So, anybody can start booking the rooms at the special rate! 913-851-3100 - ask for the Thurman/Taylor rooms, or just let us know if you need any help!

ONE YEAR to go!

We're finally to ONE YEAR to go! yay! It seems like a long time still, but I'm sure time will fly :) It should give us plenty of time to get everything planned/booked/organized! We can't wait to spend a fun weekend with everybody :)

I booked our florist the other day. I met with her on Monday, & talked through all the pieces of the wedding that need flowers involved, I didn't realize there would be so many! From the bridal party bouquets, boutonnieres, ceremony flowers, reception table centerpieces, corsages, flower girl, the cake, etc.... For flowers, we are going to be using our wedding colors of red & purple & many shades in between. She really was great & gave me more of a "vision" of what our wedding will look like! Trolley!

We just booked a Trolley for the Wedding Party! It will pick us up after the ceremony & we'll probably be taking some pictures around the plaza & Nelson Atkins Museum & just riding around, having some fun for a few hours, before it drops us off at Deer Creek, for maybe a few more pictures on the golf course before the reception :) We're excited! :)
