Birthday!

I celebrated another HOT July birthday! Man, it is hot & humid here! I had a great birthday! My new hubby spoiled me! I had a great day with friends, co-workers, my dad, & Brent! :)

 Our Dental Office
My favorite Mexican place for lunch!

My dad happened to be passing through Kansas City, so he joined us for lunch!
& Brent drove over for lunch, too!
 Flowers from my wonderful Hubby!
Jan & Sarah - you girls trained him well!!!
Then, I golfed 9 holes in my Thursday night, women's golf league, followed by more Mexican food & Margaritas with some friends! (& of course, my Birthday buddy Linds!)

Onto Saturday, in Lawrence, we celebrated my soon-to-be sister-in-law's Bachelorette party on Mass St.

It was a fun (& interesting....) night in Lawrence. I'll just say, I'm glad I'm NOT in college anymore!
But, Brent & I are SOOOO excited for their wedding September 17th! yay!

Ozarks 2011!

We headed to the Ozarks last weekend, for a quick trip with good friends :) This trip was a lot different than the trip we took last September (Ozarks off season). You would've thought it was Spring Break or something! It was packed!

Here's the Clan on Friday night at Shady Gators
They had a fun Bon Jovi Cover band!

Chilling in the Pool at Coconuts on Saturday

We "coved" out (hung out in an inlet) for a while :)
If only I could watch the sunset like that every Saturday night!

Guys: Brent, Matt P, Brett L
Girls: Jamie, Antoinette, Kelli, Katey

We had a great weekend! & We're looking forward to some upcoming weddings!

What to do with my time AFTER the Wedding???

With all my time not being consumed by wedding details & planning anymore, I am moving on with other things this summer! I have been putting all our gifts away, doing all our Cabo laundry, & starting to write thank you's. Then, I have tacked on Marathon Training & learning how to golf!

I am doing the Kansas City Marathon on Saturday, October 15th. I have done quite a few half-marathons, but this marathon training is going to be a lot different. I'll have to devote quite a bit of time training & getting lots of miles in.  Brent just got a new bike, so he can bike along side me - to keep me motivated! I want to check "Marathon" off my Bucket-List!

(Sorry about adding the Marathon Countdown on the blog - it's more for me to see how long I have to go!)

I also got talked into doing a Women's Golf League on Thursday nights with our friend Kate Bachman.  I have all the golf gear now, let's see if I can get better! But, it should be lots of fun! Brent & I have had some fun date nights golfing together!

We're having a great summer! Next weekend, Ozarks trip! :)

Honeymoon in CABO!

After our amazing wedding on June 11th, we flew to Cabo, Mexico, on the following Monday. We were exhausted from our busy wedding weekend & excited for some relaxing!

When we arrived at the Hilton Los Cabos resort, they greeted us as "Mr. & Mrs. Taylor" instantly & had strawberry margaritas waiting for us! They also had as a bottle of champagne & chocolate strawberries waiting for us in our room!
This is our view from our room! We could walk out to either of the 2 pools or the ocean! & We actually ordered room service one night, & had dinner on our patio! :)

This was our view every morning, as we ate breakfast

The Hilton Los Cabos Hotel - view from the beach

The Infinity Pool is where we spent 90% of our time! We read our books, had lots of chips & guacamole, drank a few margaritas, napped, & soaked up the sun!

The second day we even got a couples massage together, which was the best thing ever after all the wedding stress! Neither one of us had ever gotten a massage.....I think we will getting more of those!

After a few days of pure relaxation, we decided to venture to Cabo San Lucas & see the famous "El Archo" or Arch & spend an hour on "Lover's Beach."  It was beautiful! It was scary too, we were out in a little "dinghy" boat & had to jump out to get to Lover's Beach & jump back in the boat.

Our guide said that you can see the beach beneath the arch only every 4 years. The Arch is also where the Pacific Ocean meets the Sea of Cortez (both very rough water!) We really didn't get in the ocean very much.

Of course, we had to go to the famous Cabo Wabo for a few drinks with our new friends from Miami (we met them on the boat to the Arch & Lovers Beach)

AND, we met Olympic Gold-Medalist Snowboarder Shaun White outside Cabo Wabo!!! He was having lunch at a little taco stand with a few buddies. He said he was down in Cabo doing some surfing.

Then, we continued on to "The Office" to have dinner on the beach.

They had a clown making balloon animals, and a live band. We had a great time with our Miami friends there!

We spent a morning/afternoon in this Cabana reading books & chilling, with the awesome view of the ocean!

We had a wonderful dinner here at "Aqua" at the One & Only Pamilla Resort (which was SO BEAUTIFUL! it looked like Paradise - so perfect, it was unbelievable).

Unfortunately, a few hours later, Brent figured out he got food poisoning from his Salmon.........  :(

This was our last night/sunset in Cabo

Beautiful night view of the hotel

Goodbye to Cabo! We had a fantastic honeymoon! We will have to make an anniversary trip back there someday! :)

& Brent didn't get sunburned!!! yay!
